From humble beginnings growing up on an estate in South London, Charlie left school with no qualifications, but after a four year plumbing apprenticeship he started his own firm, Pimlico Plumbers, which now generates a turnover in excess of £15m and boasts many well known names among its many clients.

Caprice Bourrett

Caprice Bourrett

When Caprice first ventured to England from Southern California she quickly became one of the most photographed women in the world, appearing on more than 300 magazine covers across the globe.

In 2006, Caprice invested her own money to start up 'By

Caprice Lingerie'. Caprice fully finances, designs, models and markets her own hugely successful line. The reason behind the brand was the hope that the business could be passed to her future family and most importantly, to allow her to do what she loves most; making women feel beautiful, confident and feminine.

Since 2006, The By Caprice brand has broadened into 'By Caprice Swim' in 2007, 'By Caprice Sleep' in 2008, and also in 2008 'Glam By Caprice' and 'By Caprice Bedding' both exclusively to Littlewoods.

Caprice has had a rollercoaster ride since launching her first brand, going from one of the world's best known models to an entrepreneur and we hope that her columns in Raw Business Magazine will offer an insight into a truly remarkable transformation as well as following the story of a great brand that continues to go from strength to strength.

Lee McQueen

Lee McQueen

"Raw talent", Lee McQueen, hit headlines in 2008 after winning a top job with Lord Sugar on The Apprentice.

Prior to his job with Lord Sugar, Lee started his career in Recruitment where he worked for 10 years, spending six of those years with Capita Resourcing. Lee set up an academy at Capita, designed to recruit staff with limited experience, and to use effective training methods to develop them into fully fledged sales consultants.

On leaving Capita in January 2008, the division turned over £32 million and had around 30 staff; 22 of which were revenue generating.

In 2008, Lee beat 20,000 candidates to land a top role with Lord Sugar by winning The Apprentice. The grueling 12 week process tested Lee in every way: stamina, business acumen, team work, and confidence. Lee excelled in them all. Together with Simon Sugar, Lee set up Amscreen, the digital screen media company, from scratch.

After two successful years working for Lord Sugar, Lee is now Director of his own company - The Raw Talent Academy. The Raw Talent Academy aims to provide SMEs and corporate organisations with the vehicle to build internal sales academies into long term staffing plans and to encourage organisations to look at the wider raw talent in the UK rather than just graduates. As part of the business Lee also offers training to existing sales staff in addition to public and motivational speaking.
